In the Blink of an Eye
This portfolio is entitled In the Blink of an Eye. An eye blink is usually unconscious and nearly imperceptible. It is a metaphor commonly used to describe the speed and suddenness with which events might occur. This collection of photographs highlights fleeting connections, loss, and the momentary nature of human perception. But, paradoxically, these photos also hint at the meaning that exists outside of the frame that deserves notice or attention.
Crinoline
This photo was taken in Savannah, Georgia. The technique used to create this effect was the utilization of a LED light strip. I asked the model to take these lights and spin in a spiral motion as I took a long exposure photograph. The result is the ghostly skeleton-slip of a long billowing dress. "Crinoline" is a phantom of feminine elegance.
